ConnecTT Apple Watch Beta Testing

Overview
The initial version of the ConnecTT for Tesla Watch App builds on the open source code developed by ELEKS labs.  For the initial version we've added authentication, several bug fixes and a few enhancements.  It doesn't appear that the ELEKS team was able to test against a real Tesla during their development.
ELEKS used Tim Dorr's Tesla Model S JSON API, which was reverse engineered from the mobile apps.  Tim did a great job documenting the API, including examples and sample requests/responses in several languages.  This is not officially supported by Tesla and they may end up preventing an app that uses their API from ever getting approved in the Apple App Store.
Testing Requirements
At the very minimum you must have the following:
  • A Tesla Model S
  • An Apple Watch
  • An iPhone with at least iOS 8.2
Beta Testing Team
The initial size of the Apple Watch App testing team is 20 users.  The team is comprised of Tesla owners from around the world.
The beta app will be made available via Apple's TestFlight testing service.  The very first thing you must do in order to beta test the Watch app is to install TestFlight from the Apple App Store.
After you install the TestFlight app, you will receive an email invitation to test the app.  Follow the instructions in the email to install the app.  Please document any issues that you encouter during the installation process.
Logging In
There are a couple changes to the existing app so that you'll be able to log in to the portal site.  The first change is a new menu item called "Portal Login".  Select this menu item and use your Tesla email and password to log in.  Your credentials are not stored on the device, they are only used to authenticate and retrieve a couple authentication cookies that are used on subsequent requests.
If the Watch App is opened and you are not logged in, it goes into demo mode.
Reporting Issues
There will be bugs and there will be crashes.  Please do you best to document any issues that you find.  Use the Feedback link from the menu in the ConnecTT for Tesla app or send an email to markrusnak@me.com.
I plan on simplifying the design of the Watch App and I am looking to the beta testers for suggestions for functionality and screen layouts.  Also, if anyone is a graphics artist and has some time to donate to help with graphics that would be great.
Testing Schedule
My initial thoughts are to release an updated version once a week.  It may be more or it may be less depending on how testing goes and how many suggestions we get for new functionality.
The more feedback the better so please be engaged in the testing process.
Press
Feel free to promote the Apple Watch App to anyone you wish to know about it.  As far as I know, this is the first implementation of a Tesla Watch App that is actually included as part of a real app that exists in the App Store.  The ConnecTT for Tesla app has over 4,000 users right now and we are growing pretty fast!
